My goals for my senior year are for one to try my hardest to complete the coarses im taking in order to have a better future, and to learn from the assignments given to use them in other areas and apply them for later on in life :D

Animated Blockbuster

From what I’ve gathered from the article, I think that Toy Story 3 will be an experience like no other. Especially to younger kids today, whereas the first and the second Toy Story had no were near as much quality as the newest edition, Toy Story 3.

It’s amazing to see that pixar, even pixar’s first step is to start out with a simple sketch. Later they script the color and the lighting schemes. After this they add textures to the faces and walls and other items. It amazes me that each frame takes seven hours to render. It just tells you how awesome the quality is.

What I Want To Do post:

During BPA I wanted to make a music video for Digital Media. I knew one of the big parts of it would be keying out the green screen. Researching to get a good idea how to do so, I looked at many tutorials. I found out the best way to start out is to create a garbage matte in after effects, which allows you to cut out the areas of the green screen that aren't being used by the actor. Then, in after efffects the best plugin to apply would be keylight 1.2. (This is what also the cancelation of the background.) First you need to select the color you want to key out with the eye dropper tool. Put the view mode in Combined Matte. This allows you to view the transparent areas (black) the semi-transparent areas (gray) and the visible areas (white). Adjust the Screen gain parameter just enough to get the border line of the actor visible. Put the view mode into status. This is basically an enhanced version of combined matte and allows you to see the completely visible, transparent and semi-transparent areas of the footage. You want to take out all the semi-transparent areas. In order to do so under screen matte there is a clip white parameter. Scroll this down to where you can no longer see any gray areas. Put the view back on final result and the actor should be pretty well cut out of the rest of the background. You might notice that the edge of the actor is a little jagged. To fix this you can tweak the clip rollback, screen shrink and screen softness parameters to smoothen the edges. After this the actor should be ready to use in a background of choice.

How long did this project take to produce, is all of the vocals your voice, what programs did you use to make it.

They said it was a phenomenal piece, they liked how well the vocals matched up with the audio even though it involved multiple takes and
video clips.
3. What was the strongest part of your presentation?
When I was talking about how I did the sequencing of the music video in adobe premiere 4. What was the weakest part of your presentation?
Telling them I still yet had to put the date in the project.
5. Write a detailed description your judged event. I want the sequence of actions that you went through!
First, I introduced myself, "Hi my name is Andrew Noltemeyer, and I go to school at the SWCA. I'm an IMD Junior and decided to join it to learn more about audio and video production. I make music it's what I like to do on my spare time and would mind doing it for a living as a producer." I then went on to tell them I made a music video for DMP and made my own beat, wrote the lyrics, rapped and sang it and worked really hard sequencing it in Premiere and After Effect. They really enjoyed it. I think it was a good way to end off their day of viewing presentations all day.
6. What would you do differently about your presentation?
I would probably not talk as much before I showed them the video and let them ask me questions to answer what I would have covered in my presentation.
7. What would you change about your preparation for contest.
If I were to move on, as an alternative I would definitely to make it more interesting and realistic key out the green screen and add backgrounds.
